We're Hiring: Solicitor – Plot Sales & Residential Conveyancing

Are you an experienced Solicitor with a passion for residential development and conveyancing? We’re looking for a driven legal professional to join our Residential Development team taking the lead on plot sales and supporting our clients through every stage of the transaction.

This 12-month maternity cover role presents a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution from the outset. As our team continues to expand and our business grows, there is significant potential for this position to evolve into a permanent role. We are seeking an ambitious and proactive individual who is ready not only to deliver strong results during the cover period but also excited about the prospect of long-term career development and growth within our organisation.

The Role

As an integral part of our team, you will take charge of new home sales and oversee the legal processes including contracts, title investigations, exchanges, completions, and managing complex enquiries such as part exchanges and resale of properties involved in part exchanges. You’ll also manage all aspects of individual plot sale disposals and have the opportunity to handle a small caseload of residential conveyancing matters.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading plot sales from initiation to completion: drafting contracts, reviewing title documentation, handling exchanges and completions, and resolving detailed enquiries including part exchanges and resales.
• Acting as a trusted legal advisor to developers and buyers, ensuring clear communication and efficient progression of transactions.
• Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing files covering sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
• Supervising a Paralegal, providing mentorship, reviewing work, and supporting their growth.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards to maintain high-quality client care and legal accuracy.
• Contributing to departmental financial and non-financial objectives, including billing and marketing activities.
• Staying informed of the latest developments in property law and conveyancing through ongoing professional development.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years PQE in residential conveyancing; plot sales experience is highly desirable.
• Thorough knowledge of legal procedures and a strong commitment to client service excellence.
• Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage high volumes of transactions under pressure.
• Experience with proclaim and iManage is desirable.
• Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Proficient in Excel and confident working independently with minimal supervision
